Parent Update #2
25 September 2020
Many thanks and blessings to all of the parents who have signed the petition, shown support for the teachers and faculty of St. Ignatius Catholic School and that have sent in messages of encouragement for the St. Ignatius community. Please urge those who have not, to review the petition and show their support for the School. (Petition found here)
The Parents’ Governance and Transparency Sub-Committee (the ‘Sub-Committee’) would like to confirm that the media article was not instigated by the Sub-Committee members, nor were the Sub-Committee asked for comment. Our objective is to resolve this matter internally within the Catholic School and Church community. This website, although public, is geared towards communicating and updating the parents of St Ignatius School as we consider transparency being essential to this process. The Sub-Committee is accountable to the parents of St Ignatius and, due to timeframes, resources available and juggling other responsibilities, we agreed on this website being the most optimal platform to keep you, the parents, informed.
It should also be noted that the NPO investigation noted in the article was not instigated by the Sub-Committee.
Although recent developments have been unsettling, we respectfully ask all stakeholders in our school to remember our strengths and commitment to this wonderful school. Our commitment as parents to the education standards and stability of our school remains, and we remain confident in, and committed to, solving this matter with dignity, respect and resolve so that our school and its standards emerge stronger and entrenched for more generations to benefit from.
We will also be keeping an updated general timeline on the Parents Petition website so that if you wish to stay notified of our current positions and actions you can do so there.
Yours in Faith,
Parents’ Governance and Transparency Sub-Committee
