9 Oct 2020:

  • Home School Association parent meeting cancelled. No timeline for new meeting date offered.
  • Archdiocese of Detroit Associate Director of Communications removed the blocks on our email address.

8 Oct 2020:

  • School Advisory Committee meeting was held. The request for 2 representatives from the Sub – Committee to attend was not approved.
  • Father Naveen responded to the October 6th “Letter of Concerns” and the response is being reviewed by the Sub – Committee. We will update parents shortly.
  • Sub – Committee meeting held (evening) reference the Monday, October 12 HSA Parent Meeting and initial review of Father Naveen’s response.

7 Oct 2020:

  • Communications blocked with Archdiocese of Detroit discovered when email of October 6 was rejected by the AOD server as “Undeliverable – Blocked.” All email and phone attempts to verify AOD intentionally blocked us have been ignored (see Parent Update #7).

  • Sub- committee contacted parish office to again attempt to set up a meeting with Fr. Naveen.
  • Fr. Naveen contacted the Sub – committee. He confirmed he is working closely with the Archdiocese. We stand ready to provide further assistance.
  • Archdiocese of Detroit has not acknowledged receipt of proposal letter and petition, as requested.

16 Sep 2020:

  • The first meeting occurred of the 14 parents which had volunteered at the General Meeting. The Sub – Committee became the Parents’ Governance and Transparency Sub – Committee of the Home School Association. Timeline established to draft a governance document.

14 Sep 2020:

  • At the Home School Association’s (‘HSA’) General Meeting, the mandate was given by over 200 parents to have a sub – committee formed to ensure the stability of our children’s education. This followed the announcement that the Head of School Ms. Emily Alexander had resigned and the Administrator of the Parish, Father Naveen D’Souza had dissolved the School Advisory Board.
